STA2015 Annual Conference
October 21-23, 2015

In preparation for the 2015 Society of Tennessee Archivists (STA) Meeting at Pickwick Landing State Park, STA seeks paper proposals on the theme “Information Central: Archives, Education and Outreach.” The meeting’s theme explores the archives as a central nexus for various forms of education and outreach. Topics covered may include avenues through which archival materials can be used as educational teaching tools in a K-12 setting, educational value of archives exhibits; and archives educational outreach relative to archival training, adult education, local history seminars, reality television shows, and genealogy instruction. Other areas of exploration may include changes in the way researchers use archives (digital collections, interactive-online, focus on visual), developing relationships with educational institutions (from K-12, college, post-graduate, or even less formal groups such as historical societies), and education opportunities available to people without formal archival training.

Sessions are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour in length and can include 2-3 papers. For session proposals please include the title, an abstract (of up to 500 words), and the names of the organizer and each presenter with affiliation and contact information. For individual papers please submit the same information listed above. A session will be created from submitted individual papers.

Other topics may be considered and students are encouraged to submit proposals for a paper presentation or posters on research projects or activities.

Please submit proposals to Gerald Chaudron at on or before August 15, 2015.
